An introduction

Hi everyone!

I wanted to welcome all my new followers and say a special thank you to those who continue to follow me here every day. My name is Margot and I am an artist, a designer, an entrepreneur, a ballerina, a mom and the creator of Pointebrush.

I started Pointebrush a few years ago and unknowingly, it sent me on a collision course, bringing together two of the big passions in my life, ballet and art. I was always artsy and studied graphic design at Parsons School of Design in New York City. After graduating, I went on to work at big branding agencies designing logos and packaging for some of the biggest Fortune 500 companies in the world. You might have encountered my work at grocery stores, drugstores and even airports across the country.

Not long after, I met the love of my life, got married in Brooklyn and started my own business in the wedding industry bringing my love for fine art to couples getting married. Everything was going great when suddenly, my family experienced a heartbreaking tragedy and I lost my 22 year old brother to a brain tumor. This sent my whole family and myself reeling from that loss. I felt helpless, lost and in a dark place. It’s at that time that ballet reentered my life as an adult ballet dancer.

Not having returned to a dance studio in over 15 years, I quickly found comfort in the structure and disciplined environment and around the same time, started a little instagram account called Pointebrush. Fast forward to today and it’s been quite a ride. I love creating beautiful art to inspire you and bring some beauty into your day. This year I want to give back, start teaching and build a community of like minded artists and dancers for us all to create art together.

I'd love to get to know some of the new faces on here, so please leave a comment and introduce yourself. Tell me about you - what inspires you, what do you do? Ask me a question if you want, too. It’ll make my day!
